Finally it’s over. There is alot to unpack about what is good and what went wrong with this series. For starters, there are a lot of characters that fade in and out of the book without furthering the plot. Melissa, Jules, Jolene, etc. There are also alot of random scenes that fail to lead to character or plot development. However, while I think this book has way too many sex scenes, I like the explicit dominant submissive BDSM relationship here. R.K. Lilley does a good job of explaining what it means to be into it sexually, without it (ideally) overtaking the personal relationship. That being said, once again the sex scenes failed to further the plot (I know I keep saying it, but like they had no point and got boring). Oh and Bianca continues to orgasm on demand.
In this final book, Bianca and James have admitted they love each other. Bianca is adjusting to being a billionaires girlfriend and James frets over loosing her, both literally and figuratively. I would say more, but alas, once again all of the action happened in the last 10% of the book.
I will say that I was really really excited because there was a scene where Bianca asked Jame’s why he loved her. I was like “finally! I get an answer!” I should have known better. He says that he loves her because of her eyes gorgeous eyes and that he can see her pain in them (it mirrors his), because of their sexual chemistry, and because her paintings are beautiful and a reflection of her soul. WHAT. I don’t know why I was surprised that he didn’t have anything to say, because it was basically love at first sight for him and he says as much and that’s the entire basis of the series. Oh well. The ending is action packed and I found it interesting enough to redeem the rest of the book.
Over all, the series had too much sex and not enough character development or plot. Definitely good for a quick read, but I’m not sure it’s one that I’ll come back to again.
