Rating: 5 out of 5.So this is another one of those YA, not quite paranormal romance, more along the lines of YA fantasy with a romance theme. But dear god I love Laini Taylor so much. I first read another of her series, Daughter of Smoke and Bone, a few years ago and I can say hands down she is my favorite author and gives meaning to the phrase “wordsmith.” She works magic with words. Her prose is nothing shy of stunning. She is original and beautiful and unique and I cannot say enough. I also think she is a genius. Now bear with me as I get a bit out there with this, but I love space and thinking about the infinite nature of the universe and Laini freaking Taylor weaves those concepts into her books so effortlessly. I love that she incorporates the concept of the multiverse into all of her books (blink and you’ll miss it) and I really just love the picture she paints of the universe. Pages upon pages of worlds that you cant reach by expanding width wise but that you have to pierce vertically. Ok anyway, sorry for that tangent, back to Strange the Dreamer.
Synopsis: Lazlo Strange is an orphan boy who dreams of being a warrior like those from the mythical city of Weep. It’s just a myth. Then one day, the soldiers of Weep in his city requesting the aid of the most abled men among them. No one considers pale librarian Lazlo Strange, he isn’t even a scholar just a fetcher of books. But Lazlo is determined to make his way to Weep.
